Microsoft is wanting to end users to upgrade to new systems so they can unlock the features of chipset on the motherboards for their operating systems. This is why they have hard requirement for TPM feature as well for security and support of new hardware that coming.Īlso they are moving away from the old 32 bit support if you look at what they are preparing for the future is going to be 64 bit and possible home user will eventfully be on Operating system that only supports 128 bit operating systems while business will move to 256 bit operating system for security, speed and reliability. Windows boots up normally and it will get all the way to the desktop view, but there is no way to navigate to check on things or make changes.Older Cpu though they support 64 bit they still relie upon the old 32 bit system i suspect future motherboard designs will only use the UEFI and will only support 64 bit and up as so they can ensure security and unlock the potentials of computing. Everything appears to work great in the 5i5RYH, but when I move the HD back over to the 5CPYH none of the USB ports are working.
When it finished I downloaded the correct USB 3 drivers Download USB 3.0: Intel® USB 3.0 Device Driver for NUC5PY and installed them. Instead I simply put the new HD that I was using into a NUC5i5RYH and installed the OS from the Windows installation disc with no issues. I tried the most popular method where you install the OS from a USB drive and modify the USB drivers using the Windows 7 USB 3.0 Creator Utility with no success.
I'm attempting to install Windows-7 Professional on a new NUC5CPYH and I'm running into an issue getting the USB ports to work.
